Entry # 3.3- Design Brief

I am going to be making a cereal box with a  person from World History that made a great contribution to society. The person's picture is going to be on the box along with facts about them and what they did to make them important. The cereal box will be regular and will advertise said person that each of us is assigned. The project is due January 19th,2009 and Must be completed fully along with the design folio and blog entries.

Entry #3.2- Design Task

I am going to design and make a cereal box with the person I was assigned to research on it. This is not going to be a regular cereal box though. I will be using a regular cereal box but with photo software, I will be able to put images of my person on there along with facts about them.This is a project about honoring people of World history that did extraordinary things in their time that impact us today.

9. This represents a big, hollow heart that is filled with love ready to be shared with others. Thats how mother Teresa's heart was and why she had to help people.-compassion

Entry #10- Capturing Attention Project - Possible Interview Questions

Write 5 questions that you need to ask the Event Coordinator before you can design the invitation. 

  1. Who is allowed to attend this event? 
  2. What is the entertainment for this event? 
  3. Any requirements in order to go to this event?
  4. What is the theme,if any? 
  5. Is there a rain date? 


Entry #9 - Capturing Attention Project - Areas of Interaction

Give specific examples of how what you will be doing in this project relates to the Areas of Interaction. 

  1. Communication-Talking to my partner, the sponsor, and the Event Coordinator. 
  2. Information-Finding out what attracts people the most and what captures their attention. Getting all the info you need to complete your task in its full extent. 
  3. Invitation Design-  Creating an  invite that's appropriate for the event and appealing to your audience of choice.

  • Do the invites have to be a certain way or can you be 100 percent creative with it?  
  • What would happen if more than one invite was liked and a final decision couldn't be made?

Entry #7 -Capturing Attention Project - Design Task

Explain in your own words the design task that you have been asked to solve. 


My partner and I will create an invite for an actual event for T.M.A. or one of its partners. Depending on how good the invite is , it might become the actual invitation for the school event. The event my partner and I are creating an invite for is the senior prom. The invite will also be chosen based on how much attention it will garner.

Entry #5- Success Project-The Design Brief

Refer to page 6 of the Design Folio. This must be written as a paragraph!
        The task is to create 10 posters of each of the qualities of the IB learner profile.
Our goal is to develop and understanding of the IB learner profile so that we can educate our peers on the qualities of an IB learner. Our target market is the people who are going to see our posters and who we need to think of when doing our posters. The target market is students, teacher/staff, parents/academic visitors, and non-academic visitors/sponsors(people who fund the school). The size of the picture must be a 8 1/2 by 11 paper. The design elements are pictures, titles, and captions. All posters must have a common design in font, layout, and color scheme. Last but not least, the final project must be e-mailed by Monday, October 19th. Also the Design Folio must be given in on October 27th.

Entry #1

How have your actions changed the community? I started to recycle in my middle school (8th grade year) because I know that it's good for the environment and is making the world a better place. I think getting people motivated enough to go green is good because it us coming together and doing something that's going to benefit us in the future.
