BLOG ENTRY # 21 - CAS Evaluation

Your campaign is intended to inspire others to change. Identify the group that would be most inspired by your campaign and why.
The group that would be most inspired by my campaign is parents who need someone to jump start their journey into creating better eating habits for their kids and themselves if necessary.

Identify the group that would be least inspired by your campaign and identify what specific changes should be made to capture that audience. People who are not willing to give up their bad foods for good ones and won't admit that they have a problem. They could be shown examples of what happens to people when they don't take good care of themselves and that it could happen to them.

BLOG ENTRY # 20 - Attitudes Evaluation

Which Learner Profile quality was your greatest strength during this project?
Communicators because I was able to help other people with their projects.

Which Learner Profile was your greatest challenge? Thinker because I wasn't able to come up with a creative idea for my topic.

Did you do work to the best ability/ No because my video was not the way I wanted it because I make really good videos but this was not one of them.

BLOG ENTRY # 19- Create Evaluation

Identify at least one problem you encountered. What steps did you take to overcome it ?
I had to start my video over because i lost the footage and I had to try to make it as good as the first one.

Identify at least one new technology skill you learned during this project. Describe how you will use these skills in other classes. I learned how to make a bibliography online.

BLOG ENTRY # 18- Design & Plan Evaluation

Compare your storyboard to your final video. Identify at least one change that was made and explain why.
I didn't talk about diabetes because my video was supposed to be a certain length and adding that on would've made it longer.

Compare your sketch to your final poster. Identify at least one change that was made and explain why.
None because I never made a sketch.

BLOG ENTRY # 17- Investigation Evaluation

What aspect of your issue did you choose to focus on in your campaign and why?
The effects of bad eating and how the parents will be blamed for what goes in their child's mouth because they don't learn how to eat by themselves.

BLOG ENTRY # 16- Product Evaluation

How could you improve your poster design?
I could have made it more creative and had more pictures on it.

How could you improve your video?
I could improve my video by having better lighting, more information, creativity, a better person to speak, and a different topic.

Target audience: Young children and their parents

What solution will your PSA promote? Healthy eating habits at a young age

What is your tag line? Is this going to be your child? It all starts right here.

What will we see happening in your PSA? What is the story? (At least one paragraph, if not more! Be extremely detailed!) Their will be two scenarios of either a good life down the road or a bad one based on how the kid eats when he/she is young.

What action do you feel you need to take after viewing this PSA? Nothing , because it's like the more information is given out about not having sex, it seems like people are more willingly to have sex more rather than listen to the messages and positive examples that are being set for them.

What is one specific change that would make this PSA more effective?

Blog Entry # 5.5 - Issue Research

1. Are you working alone or in a group? If you are working in a group, who are your group members? I am working alone.

2. What social issues have you been assigned? I have been assigned childhood obesity.

3. In order to develop an effective PSA you must feel a personal connection to the social issue that you are addressing. What does this social issue mean to you? When people are obese, usually its from bad eating habits that start at a an early age or they might inherit it from their parents. If the parents don't teach healthy eating and they are already at an unhealthy weight, the child is likely to end up the same way unless they are motivated to make a better life for themselves and the future of their child.

4. What group(s) is/are affected by your assigned social issue? Obesity affects children of all ages but recently it has been between the ages of 6-11 by 45%. Children who have two obese parents are the ones who are mostly at-risk for becoming obese themselves.

5.What potential negative impact can this issue have?  Children can develop health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol which  normally adults have. They can also develop self esteem issues and have a poor body image because of their weight.

6. What research (statistics) can you use to support your argument that this is a social issue that needs to be addressed? Childhood obesity has tripled in more than 30 years. 70% of obese youth had at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease. They are at greater risk for bone and joint problems, sleep apnea, poor self esteem, and adult problems like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, osteoarthritis, and several types of cancer.

7. Agency/Organization

    a.Federal Trade Commission

    b. Department of Health and Human Services

    c. Veggie Pals

8. What steps can be taken to address this issue? (List at least three steps that can be taken.)
  1) Parents should be more encouraging towards healthy eating.
  2) Kids should be put in programs that help them stay active.
  3) There should be ads for healthy foods towards children so that they won't see eating food thats good for them as a bad thing .

Blog Entry #5.8- Design Brief

I am going to design and make a PSA and a print ad for an issues that I have been assigned. The poster is going to be made with dimensions of 17.5(width) and 11.5(height) for Landscape and 11.5(height) and 17.5(width) for Portrait. The video is going to be 30 or 40 seconds long with good camera work. editing skills, and use of lighting and sound. The campaign must have creativity, a tag line, social benefits, facts, and follow-ups.

Blog Entry # 5.7- Design Task

Working by myself , I will be designing a public service campaign for childhood obesity. I will produce a video and print PSA that incorporates the same theme and tagline. The campaign will attempt to influence the behaviors, choices, and /or actions of a particular target audience.
